Harun Nasution Auditorium, FK Online News – The Dean of the Faculty of Medicine (FK) at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, Dr. dr. Achmad Zaki, M.Epid., Sp.OT., FICS., has been appointed as the Chairperson of the 69th Anniversary Celebration Committee of UIN Jakarta. The anniversary celebration officially commenced with an Open Senate Session held at the Harun Nasution Auditorium, Campus I UIN Jakarta, on Wednesday (June 17, 2026).

Carrying the theme, “Celebrating 69 Years of Promoting Inclusive and Global Higher Education in a Nurturing Eco-Technology Environment,” the Open Senate Session marked the beginning of a series of events commemorating the university’s 69th anniversary, which will continue over the coming weeks.

The Open Senate Session was inaugurated by the Secretary of the UIN Jakarta Senate, Prof. Dr. Masri Mansoer, M.A., and attended by the Rector of UIN Jakarta, Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar, M.A., Ph.D., vice rectors, faculty leaders, lecturers, administrative staff, students, alumni, and various university partners.

In his address, the Rector highlighted the university’s strategic achievements throughout its 69-year journey. Currently, UIN Jakarta comprises 13 faculties, a Graduate School, and 94 academic programs. The university continues to strengthen its international reputation through academic excellence, research, scientific publications, internationalization initiatives, digital transformation, and sustainable campus development.

On the occasion, the Chairperson of the 69th Anniversary Celebration Committee, Dr. dr. Achmad Zaki, M.Epid., Sp.OT., FICS., expressed his appreciation to all parties who supported the organization of the Open Senate Session as the opening event of the anniversary celebration.

"We would like to express our sincere gratitude to the Rector, the University Senate, all faculty leaders, members of the academic community, alumni, and everyone who contributed to the successful organization of the Open Senate Session for the 69th Anniversary of UIN Jakarta," he stated.

According to Dr. Zaki, the 69th anniversary serves as an important momentum to strengthen collaboration and foster a spirit of togetherness among all members of the academic community in supporting the university’s continued progress.

"This year’s theme reflects UIN Jakarta’s commitment to developing inclusive higher education with global competitiveness, embracing technological advancement responsibly, and maintaining environmental sustainability. These values should inspire every step of the university’s development," he explained.

He further noted that the various activities prepared for the anniversary celebration are not merely ceremonial events but also serve as platforms to strengthen inter-unit relations, foster academic culture, and enhance the university’s contribution to society.

"We strive to present a series of activities that embody UIN Jakarta’s spirit as an inclusive, collaborative, and impactful university. Therefore, in addition to academic programs, the celebration also includes social, sports, arts, and community engagement activities involving various members of the academic community," he added.

As Chairperson of the Committee, Dr. Zaki expressed his hope that the entire series of anniversary events would provide an opportunity to reflect on UIN Jakarta’s long journey while serving as a momentum to strengthen innovation, collaboration, and the university’s contributions at both national and global levels.

The 69th Anniversary Celebration of UIN Jakarta will feature a wide range of academic, scientific, social, sports, arts, and community service activities. These events form part of the commemoration of UIN Jakarta’s 69 years of dedication to advancing higher education that is excellent, inclusive, and beneficial to the nation and the wider Muslim community.
