Tuesday, October 31, 2023. Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, UIN Jakarta, together with Deputy Dean 2 for General Administration / Head of the Microbiology Section FK UIN, and Deputy Dean 3 for Student Affairs & Cooperation, held a meeting with the Head of Research Promotion Office and Research Assistant at the Research Institute for Microbial Disease (RIMD) Osaka University.

This meeting will be followed up with correspondence for Doctoral Research program candidates, teaching staff, and alums of FK UIN Jakarta with related departments at Osaka University, especially RIMD, regarding the development of whole genome sequencing research, which FK UIN Jakarta is developing with the support of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia.

The Dean of FK UIN Jakarta was also taken to visit various RIMD research facilities and the new BSL 3 Building at Osaka Uni to benchmark the strengthening of the Molecular Research and Diagnostics Center. Osaka University is one of the oldest universities in Japan and is ranked 80th in the QS World University rankings in 2024. It has produced leading scientists and essential discoveries in the history of medicine.
