Eid al-Adha 2026, FK UIN Jakarta Extends Solidarity Through Hundreds of Qurbani Meat Packages

Masjid Taajul Ilmi FK, FK Online News — Eid al-Adha is closely associated with the ritual slaughter of sacrificial animals and the spirit of sharing with the community. In this spirit, the Faculty of Medicine (FK) of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta carried out the slaughter of three cows and two goats at the Taajul Ilmi Mosque, FK, on Thursday (28/5/2026).

The slaughter of the sacrificial animals was attended by the Dean of FK, Dr. dr. Achmad Zaki, M.Epid., Sp.OT.; alumnus dr. Abdullah Shidqul Azmi, Sp.PD.; the Chair of the Mosque Prosperity Board of FK UIN Jakarta, who also served as Chair of the Committee, Dr. dr. Ahmad Azwar Habibi, M.Biomed.; as well as faculty members and students.

In his remarks, the Dean of FK, Dr. dr. Achmad Zaki, stated that the successful implementation of the qurbani slaughter was inseparable from the contribution of the entire academic community. “God willing, the qurbani meat will be distributed to those entitled to receive it, especially within UIN Jakarta and the surrounding community, including people around the FK campus, cleaning staff, education personnel, and others who are eligible, as arranged by the central committee of UIN Jakarta for Eid al-Adha 2026,” he said.

He also expressed hope that all who contributed their sacrificial animals and participated in the slaughter would receive blessings, and that the process would be carried out with the spirit that reflects the essence of the Eid al-Adha sacrifice.

Meanwhile, Dr. dr. Ahmad Azwar Habibi explained that one notable aspect of this year’s qurbani contributions was the dean’s sacrificial animal, which had been funded through a savings-based approach. He also encouraged others to adopt the dean’s method of gradually saving for qurbani. “Starting from five thousand to one hundred thousand rupiah, so that next year it does not feel like spending 3.5 or 4 million rupiah, or one share. Hopefully, this can be initiated—let us start saving for qurbani next year,” he said.

With three cows and two goats slaughtered this year, FK UIN Jakarta has set a target for distributing qurbani meat to members of the academic community and the surrounding community.

“There are three cows and two goats, and the minimum target is 323 packages under our responsibility. The rest will be distributed internally within FK. This includes FK, Fikes, Fisip, Pasca, and Psikologi. So, five shares from the cows at FK will cover these five units, plus residents and vendors around FK,” Dr. dr. Ahmad Azwar Habibi explained.

Through this year’s qurbani, FK UIN Jakarta encourages the academic community to begin cultivating the habit of saving for sacrificial worship as a form of care and a spirit of sharing with others, particularly the community surrounding the campus.
