Faculty of Medicine at UIN Jakarta Holds Training on Antenatal Care Services and Basic Obstetric Ultrasound

Medical Building, FK Online News — The Faculty of Medicine (FK) of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta organized a Training Program on Antenatal Care (ANC) Services and the Use of Limited Basic Obstetric Ultrasound, held from Wednesday to Saturday (January 28–31, 2026).

This training program was an initiative of the Faculty of Medicine at UIN Jakarta, focusing on enhancing competencies in maternal healthcare services as well as improving basic obstetric ultrasound skills. The program was attended by general practitioners from various regions as part of efforts to strengthen maternal health services in healthcare facilities.

The Vice Dean II of the Faculty of Medicine at UIN Jakarta, Dr. dr. Erike Anggraini Suwarsono, M.Pd., Sp.M.K., stated that the training was organized through the Clinical Skills Unit (CSU) of the Faculty of Medicine in collaboration with Solusi Transformasi Persada.

“This training is conducted through the Clinical Skills Unit (CSU) of the Faculty of Medicine at UIN Jakarta in collaboration with Solusi Transformasi Persada as part of our efforts to enhance competencies in ANC services and the use of basic obstetric ultrasound for general practitioners,” she explained.

The program was designed to provide comprehensive training, covering screening for pregnancy complications, initial management and referral systems, integrated antenatal care policies, as well as practical skills in the use of limited basic obstetric ultrasound. The materials were delivered by obstetrics and gynecology specialists through theoretical sessions, case discussions, and hands-on practice.

One of the participants, Dr. Yowendru, expressed that the training provided tangible benefits in improving clinical understanding and skills, particularly in maternal healthcare services.

“This training is very helpful for us as general practitioners, especially in improving our ANC service capabilities and the use of basic obstetric ultrasound in a more structured and standardized manner. The materials are practical and highly relevant to real clinical practice,” he said.

According to the training schedule, participants also received materials on patient safety, examination ethics and medicolegal aspects, preparation of final pregnancy recommendations and birth planning, as well as postpartum and postnatal family planning services. The program concluded with field practice and a seminar presenting learning outcomes during the onsite session.

For information, the Training on ANC Services and the Use of Limited Basic Obstetric Ultrasound was conducted using a blended learning method that combined online and onsite learning. The training materials included screening for pregnancy complications, integrated antenatal care policies, basic obstetric ultrasound examination techniques, patient safety, and the formulation of final pregnancy recommendations and delivery plans.
