Friday-Saturday, 29-30 September 2023. Training on Introduction to CRISPR-Cas9 Technology took place at the Molecular Laboratory of FK UIN Jakarta. This activity is a collaboration between the Molecular Diagnostic and Research Center (MDRC) FK UIN Jakarta and PT SCIENCEWERKE. CRISPR-Cas9 is a breakthrough technology in genetics that allows scientists to edit or modify DNA precisely and efficiently. In the field of medical science, CRISPR-Cas9 has enormous potential, such as in the fields of genetic therapy, drug development, disease prevention, cancer treatment, and virus editing.

Apart from getting an explanation about CRISPR-Cas9 technology for genome editing research and its application in Indonesia by Dr. Riza Arief Putranto, DEA as the primary resource person, this activity also directly invited participants to hands-on culturing E. Coli bacteria and its transformation, carrying out the PCR process, and even electrophoresis analysis.
