Jakarta, 30 November 2025 — The Faculty of Medicine, UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, welcomed Prof. Hakimah Mohammad Sallehuddin, an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), as part of the 2025 International Adjunct Professor Program. Her academic visit took place from 23 to 30 November 2025.

Throughout the one-week program, Prof. Hakimah—an expert in Internal Medicine and Geriatric Medicine—served as a visiting lecturer to enhance academic collaboration and strengthen the quality of medical education within the Faculty of Medicine, UIN Jakarta.

Guest Lectures on Geriatric Medicine and Hajj Medicine

During her visit, Prof. Hakimah delivered two interactive guest lectures focusing on:

• Geriatric Medicine, highlighting post-stroke bone health and a comprehensive approach to elderly patient care.
• Hajj Medicine, covering clinical considerations and health challenges faced by pilgrims, including the management of chronic medical conditions during the pilgrimage.

The lectures were attended enthusiastically by clinical students and faculty members.

Academic Meeting and Research Collaboration Plans

Prof. Hakimah also participated in a strategic academic meeting with faculty leaders and academic development teams. The discussion centered on future collaborative opportunities, particularly in the fields of:

• Geriatric Medicine, including research on elderly health and post-stroke rehabilitation.
• Hajj Medicine, with a focus on health issues related to Indonesian pilgrims.

Both institutions expressed their commitment to fostering long-term academic partnerships through joint research, curriculum development, and faculty mobility initiatives.

Strengthening Internationalization at the Faculty of Medicine

The International Adjunct Professor 2025 program represents the Faculty of Medicine’s continuing efforts to expand its international network, in line with its vision to become a globally competitive medical school. The visit of Prof. Hakimah marks an important step toward enhancing academic capacity, research engagement, and international collaboration at UIN Jakarta.
