FK UIN Jakarta Encourages the Strengthening of Clinical Simulation through the PRIME Program
FK Online News , The Faculty of Medicine (FK) - UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, through its Clinical Skills Unit (CSU), organized the PRIME (Preparation for Realistic Medical Education) program under the theme “Optimizing Clinical Simulation for Future Medical Excellence” on Thursday (29/01/2026).
The activity, which was conducted online via Zoom Meeting, featured Dr. dr. Francisca A. Tjakradidjaja, M.S., Sp.GK, together with the CSU FK UIN Jakarta team, as resource persons. PRIME is part of an effort to strengthen clinical skills learning through a structured simulation-based approach grounded in medical education theory.
In her presentation, the speaker explained that the process of learning clinical skills involves various aspects, ranging from cognitive processes and motor actions to psychomotor learning, which are also influenced by affective elements such as attitude, motivation, and professionalism. This approach emphasizes that mastery of clinical skills is not solely focused on technical aspects, but also on the development of professional attitudes and judgment.
The material presented also linked the application of clinical simulation to learning theories such as behaviorism, andragogy, and reflective practice, highlighting the importance of repetitive practice, immediate feedback, and structured reflection in improving medical students’ competencies.
Through discussions and presentations, participants gained an understanding of the stages of clinical skills learning, starting from observation and guided practice to independent professional performance. Clinical simulation is viewed as a strategic means to train accuracy of actions, patient safety, and student preparedness before entering real clinical environments.
For information, PRIME (Preparation for Realistic Medical Education) is a program designed to support simulation-based clinical learning at the Faculty of Medicine, UIN Jakarta. This program focuses on strengthening clinical skills, decision-making abilities, and professionalism of students as future physicians in facing the challenges of healthcare services in the future.
