The event was attended by FK UIN Jakarta Vice Dean for Academic Affairs Dr. dr. Fika Ekayanti, M.Med.Ed., Vice Dean for Student Affairs, Cooperation, and Alumni drg. Laifa Annisa Hendarmin, Ph.D., and Head of the Medical Profession Study Program dr. In her remarks, Dr. dr. Fika Ekayanti emphasized that the protection of medical profession students is an important concern for the faculty throughout their professional training in the field.

“To ensure the safety of the students, not only the patients,” she said.

According to her, medical profession students face the risk of exposure to diseases as well as other occupational hazards during clinical practice in healthcare facilities. For this reason, the presence of BPJS Ketenagakerjaan is expected to provide a sense of security and additional protection for students throughout their professional education.

Similarly, dr. Risahmawati, Ph.D. stated that not all medical faculties are able to facilitate BPJS Ketenagakerjaan protection for their professional students.

“Other medical faculties may not necessarily be able to provide this BPJS facility for their students,” she explained.

She added that the program is part of FK UIN Jakarta’s efforts to protect medical profession students, especially from the risk of exposure to infectious diseases that may come from patients during clinical training.

During the socialization session, Algi Gumilar explained the technical aspects of the BPJS Ketenagakerjaan program, including registration procedures, membership benefits, the types of protection received by medical profession students, and the service procedures if occupational risks occur during clinical practice.

He also noted that BPJS Ketenagakerjaan not only provides protection during work or professional training activities, but also offers death benefits for participants. In certain conditions, the participant’s heirs are entitled to compensation according to the provisions of the BPJS Ketenagakerjaan program.

Through this activity, FK UIN Jakarta reaffirmed its commitment to fostering a safe, healthy, and protected professional education environment for its students. The presence of BPJS Ketenagakerjaan protection is expected to provide a sense of security and enhance students’ readiness to undergo professional education and healthcare services in a professional manner.
