Prof. MK. Tadjudin Auditorium, FK News Online – Following the introduction to the Academic and Student Culture through the Campus Academic and Student Culture Orientation (PBAK) for new students, the Faculty of Medicine (FK) UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta held a socialization session for parents and guardians of new students. The session provided an overview of various academic procedures, including transparency in the use of Single Tuition Fees (UKT), the academic calendar, psychological services, student organizations, and permission and attendance regulations for FK students. The event was held at the Prof. MK. Tadjudin Auditorium and attended both in person and via Zoom on Thursday (10/9/2026).

The session was attended by Dean of FK UIN Jakarta Dr. dr. Achmad Zaki, M.Epid., Sp.OT., FICS.; Vice Dean for Academic Affairs Dr. dr. Fika Ekayanti, M.Med.Ed.; Vice Dean for General Administration, Planning, and Finance Dr. dr. Erike Anggraini Suwarsono, M.Pd., Sp.M.K.; Vice Dean for Student Affairs, Alumni, and Cooperation drg. Laifa Annisa Hendarmin, Ph.D.; Head of the Counseling and P3KS Service Unit Sophie Dwiyanti, S.Psi., Psi.; Head of the Faculty Administration Office Sundus Nuzulia, S.Sos., M.Si.; Head of the Medical Study Program dr. Marita Fadhilah, Dr.Med.Sc.; Head of the Medical Professional Education Program dr. Risahmawati, Ph.D.; and more than 100 parents and guardians of new students.

In his presentation, Dean of FK UIN Jakarta Dr. dr. Achmad Zaki introduced the faculty's logo, vision, and mission. One of the key elements highlighted was the faculty's “Iqra” icon, which means “read” and represents an encouragement for FK students to continuously learn. “Iqra” also stands for I**ntegrative, Q**ualified, R**esearch in A**cademic Culture, serving as part of the identity and values of FK UIN Jakarta.

“Our icon represents the first verse revealed, ‘Iqra.’ I want everyone who enters this campus to see the word ‘read’ first, because every medical student and alumnus who has gone through the educational process will understand that one of the words they encounter most often is ‘read.’ We have made it one of our core values,” he explained.

Dr. dr. Achmad Zaki also elaborated on the faculty's vision and mission, the history of its establishment, and the history of its leadership, including the contribution of Prof. Azyumardi Azra, who played an important role in initiating the establishment of the Faculty of Medicine at UIN. He also introduced the faculty's partners and highlighted its alumni who have successfully pursued careers as doctors both nationally and internationally.

The presentation continued with an overview from the vice deans. Dr. dr. Fika Ekayanti explained that FK UIN Jakarta offers various specialist programs, including Pulmonology, Obstetrics and Gynecology, and Biomedical Sciences. She further emphasized that students are expected to take their studies seriously and maintain their GPA in accordance with the faculty's standards. The faculty conducts student evaluations during the second, fourth, and sixth semesters.

“In the second, fourth, and sixth semesters, we conduct evaluations of our students. These evaluations determine whether a student will continue their studies or be dismissed if they demonstrate insufficient commitment to their education, which may affect their academic progress,” she explained.

Vice Dean for General Administration, Planning, and Finance Dr. dr. Erike Anggraini then presented information regarding the transparent use of students' Single Tuition Fees (UKT).

“At present, part of the funds is allocated to subscriptions for access to scientific journals, which can reach up to IDR 1.2 billion. The funds are also used to provide hospitals for student clinical practice, register students for academic support activities such as competitions, maintain facilities and infrastructure, and support student activities such as DEMA, SEMA, and outgoing student programs. There are no other operational education fees at FK UIN Jakarta; students only pay the UKT,” she explained.

She further explained that the university provides flexibility for students experiencing difficulties in paying their tuition fees. FK UIN Jakarta offers a UKT adjustment system, including the possibility of moving to a lower UKT category based on the student's circumstances, as well as an installment payment scheme.

Meanwhile, Vice Dean for Student Affairs, Alumni, and Cooperation drg. Laifa Annisa Hendarmin, Ph.D., explained that the faculty's student affairs, alumni, and cooperation division supports students in developing both soft skills and hard skills through various non-academic activities and areas of interest.

“At FK, we have student organizations such as the Student Executive Council, or DEMA, which is similar to BEM at other universities. There is also the Student Senate, or SEMA, as well as the Center for Medical Student Activities (CIMSA) and UIN Syahid Medical Rescue (USMR),” she explained.

The faculty also provides support through various scholarship programs in collaboration with the university and external institutions, including KIP Kuliah, the Karya Salemba Empat (KSE) Scholarship, Affirmation Scholarships, Social Trust Fund (STF), Beasiswa Indonesia Bangkit, Cendekia BAZNAS, and other programs.

The socialization session continued with a presentation on the availability of counseling services for FK UIN Jakarta students by Sophie Dwiyanti, S.Psi., Psi. Information was also provided on the Medical Professional Education Program, master's programs, and further education opportunities, including specialist programs, presented by Head of the Medical Professional Education Program dr. Risahmawati, Ph.D.
