Four UIN Jakarta Medical Students Selected for 2026 Student Mobility Programs in Japan and Thailand
Medical Education Building, FK Online News — The Faculty of Medicine of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta has once again achieved international recognition. Four students have been selected to participate in the 2026 Student Mobility Program, where they will undertake academic activities at two international partner universities: Chiang Mai University in Thailand and Tohoku University Graduate School of Medicine in Japan.
The program forms part of the Faculty of Medicine’s commitment to advancing the internationalization of medical education and expanding its students’ academic experiences at the global level.
Two students, Azzatun Nur Affah and Kirana Najda P., will participate in the program at Chiang Mai University, Thailand. They will undertake academic activities at the Faculty of Associated Medical Sciences under the supervision of Professor Sakorn Ponprasert.
The program is expected to provide them with valuable cross-cultural learning experiences while broadening their knowledge of health sciences and medical research.
Meanwhile, Azkiya Alika Putri and Aisyah Azzahra have been selected to participate in the 2026 Student Mobility Program at Tohoku University Graduate School of Medicine in Japan.
Azkiya will undertake academic activities in the Department of Disaster Public Health under the supervision of Professor Shinichi Kuriyama. Aisyah will study in the Department of AI and Innovative Medicine under the guidance of Professor Gen Tomiyama.
The selection of the four students reflects the academic quality, competitiveness, and readiness of UIN Jakarta medical students to participate in an international academic environment. Through the program, the participants will gain direct learning experience at internationally reputable medical education institutions, expand their academic networks, and strengthen their competencies in addressing global healthcare challenges.
The Dean of the Faculty of Medicine of UIN Jakarta, Dr. dr. Achmad Zaki, M.Epid., Sp.OT., FICS., expressed his appreciation for the students’ achievement in successfully passing the 2026 Student Mobility Program selection process.
According to him, their success demonstrates that students of the Faculty of Medicine of UIN Jakarta are capable of competing internationally while serving as academic ambassadors who uphold the reputation of both the faculty and the university.
“We congratulate all the students who have been selected to participate in the 2026 Student Mobility Program. Make the most of this opportunity to enrich your academic experience, establish international networks, and acquire valuable knowledge and best practices that can later be applied to the development of healthcare services in Indonesia,” he said.
Through its various partnerships with overseas universities and healthcare institutions, the Faculty of Medicine of UIN Jakarta continues to provide opportunities for students to strengthen their academic capacity, expand international collaboration, and reinforce the faculty’s position as a globally competitive medical education institution.
