UIN Jakarta Faculty of Medicine and PMI Jakarta Sign MoU to Strengthen Research and Student Development

Medical Building, FK Online News – The Faculty of Medicine (FK) of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta and the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) Jakarta Province signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen collaboration in the fields of education, research, humanitarian activities, and human resource development. The signing ceremony was one of the key agendas during the peak celebration of the 21st Anniversary of the Faculty of Medicine UIN Jakarta on Saturday (June 13, 2026).

The event was attended by the Rector of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar, M.A., Ph.D.; Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ahmad Tholabi Kharlie, S.Ag., S.H., M.H., M.A.; Vice Rector for General Administration, Prof. Dr. Imam Subchi, M.A.; Vice Rector for Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ali Munhanif, M.A., Ph.D.; Vice Rector for Cooperation and Institutional Development, Din Wahid, M.A., Ph.D.; and Chairperson of PMI Jakarta Province, Drs. H. Beky Mardani.

Also in attendance were Dean of the Faculty of Medicine UIN Jakarta, Dr. dr. Achmad Zaki, M.Epid., Sp.OT., FICS; Vice Dean for General Administration, Planning, and Finance, Dr. dr. Erike Anggraini Suwarsono, M.Pd., Sp.MK.; Vice Dean for Student Affairs, Cooperation, and Alumni Relations, drg. Laifa Annisa Hendarmin, Ph.D.; heads of study programs, lecturers, and members of the academic community.

The MoU serves as a foundation for cooperation between the two institutions in supporting the implementation of the three pillars of higher education (Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi), particularly in research, community service, humanitarian program development, and the provision of experiential learning opportunities for students through internships and field activities.

Chairperson of PMI Jakarta Province, Drs. H. Beky Mardani, expressed his appreciation for the partnership with UIN Jakarta. According to him, collaboration between educational institutions and humanitarian organizations plays an important role in producing competent human resources who also possess strong social awareness.

"This collaboration is a very positive step. We hope the synergy between PMI and UIN Jakarta will provide broad benefits, not only for both institutions but also for society. Students will have the opportunity to gain firsthand experience through humanitarian activities, research projects, and internship programs offered by PMI," he said.

He further noted that PMI offers extensive opportunities for collaboration with the academic community of UIN Jakarta, particularly the Faculty of Medicine, in various health and humanitarian initiatives.

"We see tremendous potential for collaboration. From research and health education programs to blood donation campaigns and student involvement in PMI activities, this partnership provides valuable opportunities to connect academic knowledge with real community needs," he added.

Meanwhile, Rector of UIN Jakarta, Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar, welcomed the signing of the MoU as part of the university’s commitment to expanding strategic partnerships with national institutions.

According to him, collaboration with PMI will not only strengthen academic and research development but also provide broader opportunities for students to gain practical experience and cultivate humanitarian values.

Through this partnership, UIN Jakarta and PMI Jakarta Province are expected to develop a variety of collaborative programs that support the needs of the academic community, including health research, community service initiatives, student internship programs, humanitarian training, and other activities that contribute to improving public health.

The signing of the MoU represents a strategic step in strengthening UIN Jakarta’s role as a higher education institution that excels not only in academics but also in building partnerships that generate broader benefits for society.
