UIN Jakarta Faculty of Medicine Holds Student Governance Workshop, Drafts Adaptive and Anti-Bullying Regulations

M.K. Tadjudin Auditorium, UIN Online News – The Faculty of Medicine (FK) at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta held a Governance & Student Affairs Workshop as part of its efforts to strengthen the governance of student organizations while redesigning a more adaptive and safer development system for new students. The event took place at the M.K. Tadjudin Auditorium on Saturday–Sunday, April 11–12, 2026.

Carrying the theme “Strengthening the Governance of DEMA–SEMA–OPK and Redesigning New Student Development at the Faculty of Medicine to Be Adaptive, Safe, Portfolio-Driven, and Anti-Bullying,” the workshop was attended by the Student Executive Board (DEMA), Student Senate (SEMA), and Student Interest Organizations (OPK) within the Faculty of Medicine at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, namely CIMSA, MERCY, and USMR.

Held over two days, the workshop served as a strategic forum to discuss the formulation of new regulations that are more relevant to the developments in medical education and the current needs of students. In addition, the event aimed to produce organizational governance documents, work plans, and guidelines for the cadre development of new students.

In his remarks, the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Dr. dr. Achmad Zaki, M.Epid., Sp.OT., FICS., emphasized the importance of transforming student organizational culture, particularly by eliminating seniority practices and fostering a more inclusive environment.

“We want to build a culture that leaves seniority behind and replaces it with mentorship. Organizations must become safe and inclusive spaces, not only for student activists, but for all students,” he said.

He also encouraged all participants to actively engage in discussions to produce more humane regulations.

“This forum is a shared space for drafting transparent and collaborative governance. We want organizations in the Faculty of Medicine to become more welcoming to all students, including those who are not directly involved in student organizations,” he added.

Through workshop sessions and group discussions, participants were invited to conduct a gap analysis, design a student cadre development system, and develop a new student mentoring framework oriented toward portfolio development from the very beginning of university life.

The event also marked a concrete step by the Faculty of Medicine at UIN Jakarta in creating a healthy, inclusive student organizational ecosystem that is free from bullying practices, in line with the demands of modern medical education, which emphasizes professionalism and integrity.
