11 Muslim Doctors Officially Take the 55th Hippocratic Oath at the Faculty of Medicine UIN Jakarta
Auditorium M.K. Tadjudin, FK Online News — The Faculty of Medicine (FK), UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, held its 55th Hippocratic Oath Ceremony at the M.K. Tadjudin Auditorium on Tuesday, 10 February 2026. On this occasion, eleven Muslim doctors officially took their professional oath as a form of moral, ethical, and professional commitment in carrying out medical practice.
The ceremony was attended by the Vice Rector for Student Affairs of UIN Jakarta, Prof. Ali Munhanif, M.A., Ph.D.; the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Dr. dr. Achmad Zaki, M.Epid., Sp.OT., FICS; the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Dr. dr. Fika Ekayanti, M.Med.Ed.; the Vice Dean for General Administration, Dr. dr. Erike Anggraini Suwarsono, M.Pd., Sp.M.K.; the Head of the Medical Profession Study Program, dr. Risahmawati, Ph.D.; and the Head of the Medical Study Program, dr. Marita Fadhilah, Dr.Med.Sc.
Several invited guests were also present, including the Head of the Mahad Aly Education Sub-Directorate of the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Dr. Mahrus, M.Ag.; the Chair of the Indonesian Medical Association (IDI) South Tangerang Branch, dr. Dwi Putri Ayu; and the Acting President Director of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta Hospital, dr. Syaifullah, MARS, MM, FISQua, FIHFAA.
In his remarks, the Vice Rector for Student Affairs, Prof. Ali Munhanif, M.A., Ph.D., emphasized that the physician’s oath is not the end of the journey but the beginning of greater responsibility as both academics and professionals.
“This is where we accept far greater challenges, both for the medical profession and in upholding the code of ethics as part of the UIN Jakarta academic community,” he stated.
Dr. Mahrus, M.Ag., from the Ministry of Religious Affairs, highlighted that graduates of the Faculty of Medicine UIN Jakarta possess both an advantage and a responsibility as Muslim doctors. According to him, this identity is reflected not only in knowledge but also in character, spiritual values, and ethical patient care.
He emphasized that Muslim doctors are expected to deliver professional healthcare services while upholding humanity, moral conduct, and integrity in their professional duties.
Meanwhile, the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Dr. dr. Achmad Zaki, M.Epid., Sp.OT., FICS, stated that the medical profession plays a strategic role as a driver of goodness in society. He emphasized that doctors are required not only to be scientifically competent but also to demonstrate integrity and a strong humanitarian orientation.
“In accordance with the Qur’an, Surah Ali Imran verse 104, you are about to become part of a group that calls others to goodness. That is the task of a doctor—to move forward and invite others toward good,” he said.

The 55th Hippocratic Oath Ceremony marks the readiness of graduates from the Medical Profession Study Program of the Faculty of Medicine UIN Jakarta to enter the field of service as medical professionals, upholding professional ethics, scientific excellence, and Islamic values that characterize UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta.
